Things Unseen Theatre will be presenting the play “’Night, Mother” by Marsha Norman and directed by Richard McGarvey on February 6-9. What would you do if someone you loved sat down with you one night and calmly told you that they were going to end their life before morning? Early in this 90-minute drama, Jessie calmly reveals to her mother that by the end of the evening she is going to lock her bedroom door and shoot herself. She wants them to have a pleasant last night together while she does her mother’s nails, replenishes the candy jars and organizes the junk drawer. The difficult topic of suicide will be discussed following each show. Performances are at the Church in the Middle of the Block Cultural Center, 217 5th Avenue, Altoona. Show times are 7:30 pm for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances, and 2:00 pm for the Sunday matinee. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $10 for seniors and students, and will be available at Thompson Pharmacies, at the door and online at CentralPATickets.com.
